Was doing a service this morning and noticed oil on the right-hand side spark plug thread, are there any gaskets that I can replace to prevent oil getting into the treads? I have looked on-line but can't find anything relating to changing the valve gaskets on my car, I have only found rocket gasket replacement, which I have but don't want to fit if there are other gaskets that need replacing.

Hi,

This vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I don't have the specifics. However, I looked up a picture to see how the gasket is made.

From what I can tell, there is a gasket that is part of the valve cover that seals off where the spark plugs would be located. See pic below. I circled what I believe would be the portion of the gasket that seals oil from reaching the plugs.

Take a look and let me know your thoughts.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Joe,

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my query.

I also looked online and could only find the same information that you have given me, so it looks probable that this is the gasket that I need to replace, I already have a new one so thanks to your answer I can confidently go ahead and fit it.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Joe,

Not sure if you received my reply, (my reply isn't showing) so I just want to make sure that you do, so I'm sending it again.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to look into my query and for answering.

I also looked online and could only find the same information that you have provided me, so it is most likely the cover gasket. I already have a new one, so thanks to your answer I can confidently go ahead and fit it.

Thanks again.
