What causes the oil light to come on while driving and the engine switched off two minutes later while on the motorway?

The oil light comes on because the engine has lost oil pressure which could be due to the lack of engine oil, have you checked it? If there is no oil in the engine it could be locked up and needs replacement. You can confirm by installing a breaker bar on the front of the engine (balancer) and try to turn the engine by hand. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
