I have an after market oil filter and an additional oil filter that is part of the bypass system. Both filters are bigger than the stock oil filter. (1.5 quarts bigger) After I filled with the standard 10 quarts or 9.5L of oil I started the engine for a few minutes and shut it off. Then checked the dip stick and it was not registering anything. I repeated the process and it was still clean. Do the after market filters that are larger than the stock filter mean that I need to add more than the standard 10 quarts of oil?

Hello, I'm Danny.

Yes, if you've added an aftermarket additional filter and they are both larger in size absolutely it will require more oil. You stated they possibly hold 1.5 quarts additionally. I would add about a half quart at a time until you achieve the required level on the dipstick. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
