Oil leaking problem

Oil in air filter compartment pushing through tappet cover. The mechanic told me it is a faulty tappet cover.

That could be. But to be sure let's start the engine and remove the oil filler cap to check the blow by of the engine to see if you have a piston ring problem. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see the results? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response.
