Oil leak

Repair shop said oil is leaking from the dip stick and has to be replaced. Is this possible? Never heard of such a thing.

Unfortunately this is a common thing with these vehicles. Be sure to ask for what’s left of the old one if you have concerns of being ripped off.

Thanks, will ask for the old one. The mechanic showed us the old one and said the rubber "O" ring on the bottom part was cracked.

I did not have it done yet because I never heard of such a oil leak from the dip stick.

Sorry, not been driving car since told of leak, but not leaking now.

Sometimes leak can stop for whatever reason. keep an eye on it to see if the leak begins again. Video or pictures helps us do our job so we can get your car fixed for you.
