Hello,

Noticed oil leak and appears to be coming from back side of engine on driver's side. It's wet up pretty high near valve cover and was wondering if something could be pressurizing the area underneath the cover forcing oil out like a PCV valve or if it's just a gasket or something else in the area.

Hi,

In most cases, it is the valve cover gasket that fails and begins to leak. With only 75,000 on this engine, it would be very unlikely that there is excessive crankcase pressure causing an issue.

As far as replacement is concerned, here is a link that explains in general how it is done. It isn't a difficult job. However, it is important to make sure both surfaces where the gasket will be contacted are both properly cleaned and dry before installation.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
