I was hearing slight tapping from lifters so I changed the oil and filter and a jelly bean size peace of quick steel fell into oil filter housing was not able to fish it out. So I finished oil change started the car and now no oil is going to the top of motor lifters are bone dry. I took valve coves off and expansion cover saw nothing. And no oil came out of expansion port hole. Was that bean big enough to stop flow or has my pump gone out? Also oil does come into the filter housing but if the filter stick is in, the oil spills over when cap when it is removed, but if I leave oil stick out oil does not spill over. Also oil filter stick is broken away from cap but the stick it self is fine. What is my best option for a remedy where did that bean flow to so I can remove it if possible?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

The first thing I recommend is to remove the oil filter housing and check to see if something is blocked. Here are the directions for doing it:

Remove/Install Oil Filter Housing

Shown On Engine 112 Without Air Pump

picture 1

1 Remove engine trim panel or air cleaner

NOTE: Detach engine cover or air cleaner by lifting vertically up and off the cylinder head covers.

2 Remove viscous fan (1)

NOTE: Right-hand thread!

3 Remove fan shroud (2).

NOTE: On model 163 unscrew bolts at bottom of fan shroud.

4 Unscrew cap (4) at oil filter housing (5)
5 Unscrew bolts (9) of oil-water heat exchanger (3) at oil filter housing (5)

NOTE: Do not pinch off coolant lines.

6 Unscrew bolt (8) at oil filter housing (5)
7 Remove oil filter housing (5)

NOTE: Installation: Replace seal (6).

8 Install in the reverse order
9 Check engine oil level

Let me know what you find.
