Hey LINNYALLGOOD,

The original Jeep part number for your vehicle should be 33004195

I have attached a picture from rockauto.com showing some of the cross over parts options.

The size of the body of the filter is not necessarily a problem as it varies with different brands and even with the same brand over time.

What you do need to do is to ensure that the threads on the filter match the filter housing and that the rubber seal on the filter is the same diameter.

Can you send us a picture of the part you removed?

Regards, Joe

So there are a couple variables that are possible. It could be the engine is no longer a 2.5L. If this is the case then the filter is not going to be what came in from the factory. Another possible issue is someone put a different style filter on it that still fits. Not all companies build the filters to look exactly the same but they still fit the vehicle.

If you have a 2.5L engine in this 1990 YJ, then I attached the OEM part number and the picture of this filter. If the one on your vehicle looks like this one then which ever you are looking up is for a different engine.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Great to know you got it. Thought that may be the case because an oil filter is clearly pretty straight forward.

So glad you got it figured out. Thanks for the update.
