Oil and also revving motor up in park to high rpm's

Does having 1/2 quart of engine oil hurt my car?
And does revving it up to high RPM's when park hurt the motor?

You should never rev an unloaded engine. So, yes it can damage the engine if you rev it high in park or neutral. I don't understand the other question. Do you mean does it hurt if there is only 1/2 qt of oil in the engine?
