I have a loud knocking sound coming from the wheel area when going over any bump in the road. When bouncing my car with the bonnet up you can see the top end of the suspension moving up and down more than the car. I’m not sure if this is normal.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Is there anyway you could record what you see and upload it for me? You really shouldn't be seeing movement like you described.

Let me know.

It shouldn't be moving that much. Is the mount on top of the strut tower still attached to the car? If it is, then suspect the strut plate.

Let me know.

Yeah it looks like it’s still attached.
If it is the strut plate, would it be safe to drive?

Thanks

Welcome back:

If it's the plate, it should be okay, but I have to be honest, it looks bad. You should have it inspected by a tech. Not being there, I'm at a disadvantage. I hope you understand.

Let me know if you have other questions or need help.

Take care,

Joe
