I was told by a mechanic that I need a new fuel pump and that the quality of the replacement parts are not as good from a parts store as they are from a dealership. Is that true? If not, where would you advise me to get them and what manufacturer would you get them from i.E. AC Delco, Spectra Premium, Delphi, etc. I do want to buy good quality replacement parts.

Good afternoon,
Yes, quality does make a difference.
AC is at the top and Delphi is made by AC.
Spectra and Carter at the bottom of the list.
Rockauto has one for $295.00.

Are the quality of the AC Delco fuel pump components the same for the one at Rock Auto as one from a GM dealership?

Correct. They are the same number as the dealership.
