Odometer& trip meter running faster than actual distance

I recently noticed that odometer and trip meter showing almost twice the distance traveled. Speedometer checked against GPS and matches speed readout.
Read someplace else that the spedometer gets info from transmission?

Yes, it does but if the speedo is correct and the odometer is wrong, they are one component so you likely need a new speedo head.
