Several weeks ago, I lost my odometer with the drive locations. One day I pushed in the reset and all the light came on bright as previously it was very hard to read the mileage or see the shift positions. Everything is dark now. I wonder if this is just a lamp inside the gauge cluster. Intended to pull the cluster, remove the plastic on the back to expose lamps and plug it back in to see if it is just a lamp. I have not done that yet but wanted possible causes of this. For $189.00 and free shipping I can send the cluster to Mr. Speedometer and he will fix it. Just wanted your input before I do anything.

Randy,

The odometer backlight is likely something a bulb replacement may not fix. Actually, I don't remember there being access to that component or a light accessible for it.

I have attached the directions below for replacing the cluster lights. Note that the only replaceable ones are the incandescent lights. LEDs will require you to have it sent for repair.

Take a look through the attached directions and let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

I have a video on what to do and it even details any soldering. However, I am not a good solder-er. I will eventually remove it and just see if there is a burn out lamp. Otherwise, I will send it off to Mr. Speedometer and just have to live without speeding at any time and make certain I have a full tank of diesel.

Hi,

I understand. However, let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Also, if you have a chance, let me know if you get it fixed.

Take care,
