Odd A/C Behavior

After the car has sat a long period of time (over night) and I go to start and go to work and turn the A/C on - the light comes on but no cold air (I actually think that the compressor does not turn on) - I have had the A/C serviced maybe a month ago, everything was and really is working great, very cold air. So, driving, and eventually the air gets cold. This is usually 2 - 5 minutes later or after I have turned the switch off then on again. Through out the rest of the day the A/C work perfect upon start up of the car. I know all else in the A/C system are in good working order...

My thoughts immediately go to a fuse or relay. It's not a blown fuse since it does turn on still. Ideas?

It sort of sounds like the A/C system itself could be working, but the cooling fans for the radiator/condenser in the front of the car may not be working. When you first start the car open the hood to see if the fans are on and spinning. They should come on when the A/C is on. Another culprit could be low A/C Freon charge.
