car runs smoothly but dies abruptly when idling or slowing down to stop.

try cleaning throttle plate on both sides and iac hole with choke cleaner also check for vacuum leaks like hoses broken or cracked as well as duct work having holes between air cleaner and throttle. finally check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it. should be 41-47 psi minimum key on only with no drop within 5 minutes
