Hard shifting? Had the check engine light come on with the codes at AutoZone, they recommended Lucas transmission stuff which I added cleared the code drove it and code came back. I then was told by AutoZone I needed to replace transmission. I contacted a friend who said he check it and found to be quart over full. So we drained it cleared code still shifted hard. So we went to Advanced Auto Parts a young lady said it is the third clutch sensor? So I ordered one from Rock Auto and I am expecting it today. Will that unit take care of problem?

Will be a good place to start, both codes are related, and the P1379 code can activate secondary codes as well, I would hope that it will fix the problem. If not you may have to do some more checking for a loom problem back to the TCM.

I replaced third clutch sensor. No more error code, but does not catch in drive 4, d3, 2, but does in lowest gear then while in motion shift to drive or d4 and it catches. When stopping at traffic light and in drive when giving gas just revs no go unless I put it in first then drive (D4). Could my problem be shift solenoid? I realize your answer to my error codes P1739 but you had said Loom TCM? Is that the control module or the shift solenoid?

You need to recheck for codes and check the transmission with a live data scanner to see if the shift solenoids are actuating in sequence.

Someone had told me to clean out the mesh screens since the car is twenty years old by removing the six number ten bolts that hold the shift solenoid in place using spray brake cleaner?

To let you know I checked fluid in transmission was a half quart low, added started car held brake shifted through p to low back to park four times. Started driving no slippage. Whooo hooo. The third clutch pressure switch fixed it. Thank you very much.
