I cannot find where to connect my meter on the truck listed above.

Hello, I'm Danny.
If you're looking for the OBD port to connect a scanner or code reader these are the 2 possible locations.If your truck has OBD1 it's located under the hood on left hand side on top of the fender well.If your truck has the newer style EECLL or otherwise known as OBD2 it is on the lower left of the dash about knee level.
I've attached a picture of both below.Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

The temperature gauge is normal. I drive it around the block, until I started up a hill and give more gusto go up the hill and it went to hot to the to the top. Now when I got back and open raised the hood it was not hot.

The temperature gauge is moving to hot but motor is not.

Hello again.
Since your truck you say is running at normal temperature but the gauge shows hot it's possible the ect- engine control temperature sensor is faulty,defective, or showing an incorrect reading.Here are a few tutorials to view for its description and replacement:
