Hi dear friends it is me again. I have been a lot of problems with my car listed above and my next question is:

I have problem with CAN BUS communication and I saw a video on YouTube (2CarPros) about how to scan a CAN. I want to buy a scan toll and fix all problems in my car and I have $400.00 or $500.00 to spend to buy a scan toll.
Please tell me if MAXICOM mk808 can help me to perform all troubleshooting and repair all issue in my car.
Thanks from Panamá city and sorry for my English

I am not sure you need to spend more than $100.00 on a scan tool unless you are getting into heavy diagnosis. The CAN tool that you saw in this video is very good but is meant more for someone that is going to be regular work on cars with a CAN network.

Here is another video that will help with a different tool that will work as well:

The CAN network is just the way in which these control modules communicate and you really need to know what codes are there because you may not have an issue with the CAN but rather just a sensor issue. Here is a guide that will help with understanding what a CAN is:

What makes you think that you have a CAN BUS issue?

What codes do you have?

Let us know and we can go from there. Thanks

Morning KASAKENNY1. Well, in other threads in this web site I talked about transmission problem in my Toyota Corolla. the codes I have is P1585. When I Put P to D or R it is hard to move. I have dash lights ABS, check engine.

https://www.2carpros.com/questions/transmission-problem-54347918

I bought a KONNWEI KW808 OBDII and I think this scanner is basic and it can read all module.

Thanks and regards from Panama city, Panamá.

By the way, this car was a part of the engine under water just a part not all and part of interior. in others threads in this web site I repaired air condition, SRS, clock spring, floor shifter assembly, etc.

Okay. So, if this related to the other post where you found corrosion in the connector and this was under water then I suspect you have other connectors like that.

If this is the only code you have then we need to follow through this testing and determine what the issue is. You do not need a scan tool that can read the CAN to figure this out. It is related to the CAN network but that tool is not needed.

Run through this testing and let me know what questions you have. Thanks
