OBD1 or OBD2?

I was told I could use an obd2 on my truck listed above, if I have the 56-pin adapter on one end and 7 pin on the other for the obd1. I do. Is this true? If so, would the obd2 read as the obd1? Same codes for the both of them or differ?

In 1994 it was obd1 here is the wiring diagram for the ODB1 connector under the hood which confirms the computer system status.
