Nothing coming out of the heater bleeder valve

I replaced my thermostat housing because it blew the cap completely off the unit taking the threads with it. After completing the repair I did the procedure to remove the air from the coolant system. The engine temp remains at half and doesnt move. The problem I am having is I never got a steady stream of coolant out of the heater bleed valve so I know that I still have air in the system. How can I resolve this issue before it causes a problem
