My car just stopped starting. I have now replaced the plugs and wires, coil pack and the ECM. It does crank but will not start.

Hi,

Have you checked for both spark and fuel to the engine? Will it start for a couple seconds if you use starting fluid?

Take a look through these links. I suspect that since it happened all at once, either the fuel pump has failed or you lost ignition spark. Here are links to help. If you do try the starting fluid trick, let me know what happens.

Also, here is a link that explains how to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes. It doesn't require a scanner on this vehicle. All you need is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip. I recommend doing this as well.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

We've tried the starting fluid and it still wouldn't start. You can tell it wants to but won't. We've thought fuel pump and that was next on our list, just wasn't sure if it could be anything else.

Hi,

If it won't start with starting fluid, chances are there is either no spark, a timing issue, or low compression. Have you checked to see if there were any trouble codes? Also, the next thing I would check is for spark. If there is spark, then we have engine issues. However, we need to check for spark. That is going to direct me to the next step.

Let me know.
