My car started over revving and engine braking. It won't shift from first gear and I can't go over 10 MPH or the RPMs go to almost 2,500. If I try to accelerate at all they just keep going higher and my car won't go over 20 MPH, but the RPMs will go to 3,000 to 4,000. It like almost growls at 10 MPH unless the transmission is in neutral. I have changed the crankshaft positioning sensor. My OBD ll desn't work. So, I can't get codes.

The crank sensor is not going to be the cause of this. Not sure if that is what you meant or just telling us about the sensor replacement.

However, this sounds like a greater transmission issue but it could be a sensor issue, so we need to start with getting codes. I understand your reader is not working but can you make it to a parts store? Most of them will pull codes for free.

Next, we need to check the fluid level. I suspect this will be okay, but we always need to check this when dealing with a transmission issue.

Let's start with these two things and then we can figure out what the next step is, so we are not guessing at a possible sensor.

Thanks
