Will not move

Was driving through some mud in 4low with no problems. Got back on pavement and stopped truck shifted to neutral then switched to AWD shifted to reverse and truck would not move. Shifted to drive and truck would not move. Tried to shift into park and it grind-ed. Shifted back to neutral and switched to 4high, still nothing, 4low, nothing. Turned engine off in neutral and restarted truck heard clicking sound come from the indicator switch area still no movement. After about forty five minutes while truck was running and in neutral the 4low engaged and truck moved both in drive and reverse but when we switched to AWD we were back to where we were, nothing. Never had any issues before with 4x4. Completely stumped.

Hello,

It sounds like the encoder motor has stopped working leaving the transfer case in neutral which is common. I would check the electrical connector and the fuse #15 and #23 that runs it. If okay here are diagrams to help you see what you are in for when changing it out:
