Not Idling

Car starts but will not idle.

Please define "will not idle". It starts but shuts off? It starts and runs fine as long as you stand on the throttle? It starts but shuts down when put in gear? It starts up but starts to shake and buck if you let off the gas?
Those all have a multitude of causes. Please add a bit of clarification and we will see if we can help you. Thank you.
