Check the ASD relay under the hood. I believe it is mounted with others on the passenger side of the vehicle. Also, if I recall (it has been awhile) it will be the second one closest to the firewall.

To me it sounds like you have a crankshaft angle sensor not generating a signal of the computer. This can be because you have a broken timing belt or the the sensor has gone bad. Here are some guides and diagrams below to help us get started in fixing the problem.
