Hello, I recently purchased the vehicle listed above cheap hoping it would only need a starter motor, but I got it home and I don't think there's anything wrong with the starter but I think the value is hitting the piston and locking up the engine. because I can turn it over backwards by hand with the plugs out to free it up and then it turns over with the key for 10/20 second's and lock's up again. Then I can free up and try again but keeps locking up after a few seconds. Could this possibly be a quick fix?

Good morning,

No, there is no quick fix for this issue at all.

Most likely you have a bent valve from a failed timing belt. This will require removing the heads and inspection for damage. If there is piston damage, then the motor will have to come out for a repair.

I would suggest replacing the motor with a used motor as that will keep down the cost of the repair.

You can go to www.car-part.com for pricing and availability for the motor at yards near you.
