When cold start engine is very noisy until it warms up.

You will have to get the oil pressure checked if the Km's are very high, may be lifter noise and or timing chain as there is no tensioner on these engines, but an oil pressure test first just to make sure that there are no gremlins to deal with.

Just because it has a lot on the odometer doesn't mean it has to be noisy, it may be all country driving. My own discovery has close to 500,000 Km's and starts first time, runs well no smoke or noises that are a worry do the basic tests before condemning the engine, these engines are very tough if looked after.
