I had drive belt replaced with belt tensioner, vanos line, and engine mount, windshield water pump. Three weeks after all those repairs, a weird noise came from car, and now they say steering wheel fluid leaking (before it was not). Could it be because of the work that was done on it, something got nicked from the prior work because there was no leak before and sounds never came till after those other things were repaired?

I feel that this is just a coincidence and the problem will not be related to previous repairs, you will have to locate the exact cause of the leak and this will show evidence of any recent accidental damage or just age related failure.
