At first there was a quiet high pitched sound almost like when you are sharping an ax or something on a grinding wheel. And now it is making a "rearrrrr" sound also. Both noises start when you turn the car on and continue whether you are in park or driving. This is a link to a video so you can hear it.

Check your belt and tension-er or have it checked recommended replacement is 60,000 miles and yours may be worn out causing the noise. Try that first or have a mechanic give their opinion. It could be something else, but we cannot hear it or see it so start there.

If you take it to a mechanic he will take the belt off to see if the noise is still there that way he can tell if it is engine noise or an accessory. Is there oil in engine? Sounds to me like an accessory thing like an alternator or tension-er bearing.

It was low but I added oil about an hour before the video was made. I got a flash light and looked again and I am not sure if that is the timing belt flopping around or not.
New video.

If you mean the belt, you can see that is not the timing belt that is the accessory drive belt. Timing belt if you have one is under a cover or it is a timing chain.
