My family member took my car to a mechanic he knew but when I got it back today it started to make a motorcycle acceleration noise and it only happens when when I accelerate. before it used to be pretty quiet unless I gas it really hard.

Sound could also be compared to a engine roar it was never that loud though.

I just wanted to know what could be the issue before looking for the guy.

I drive the vehicle listed above it is a hatchback. The mechanic apparently swapped out my front brakes.

Hello,

It sounds like when he put the car up on the rack he might have caught the exhaust system and broke something which would cause the engine to be louder like you are describing.

Try putting the car on a hoist and start the engine to see if you can find out what happened. '

Please let us know what happens, we are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
