I put new tires on my wife's truck about two weeks ago. No problems prior but now two weeks later it makes this noise like a small plane engine while driving down the road. Not sure if it had to do with the tires or if that is just a coincidence.

it can be either, but because you put new tires on it have a mechanic drive it to hear the noise it may very well be the tires making it . a lot of new tires especially on trucks because of their design make noise.
