If the trigger wire and main power lug have power when in the crank position the starter motor is bad. Please go over this guide to help confirm the problem:

I just bought a new starter and put it on when we try to jump start the starter it turns over but it's like the engine isn't turning over I also had a sensor on the passenger side behind the harmonic balancer the cover piece came off it so it's just the two wires we plugged them back up but could that be the problem too??

I don't think the sensor will make it not crank over. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the engine crank over? That way I can tell for sure what's going on.. You can upload it here with your response.
