I attempted to program my second key fob as it was not working and now neither fob will start the vehicle.

Both fobs will lock and unlock the vehicle.

The original FOB worked just fine prior to this.

I was going to head out of town tomorrow for a week of vacation but unless I get this working I will be stuck until I can contact the GM dealership on Monday.

I have even attempted to place the original fob into the key fob pocket in center console and it will not respond to a push start.

The screen on the dash is illuminated but blank.

Message center still asking for programming 3rd fob but if I try that by placing it into the fob holder in center console and pressing the start button nothing happens.

I am not sure what to do at this point.

Now the dash says, insert new remote press start button.

If I take my extra fob and do this nothing happens.

The vehicle will not respond to the start.

It does not respond to either remote in the pocket with a start.

I have attempted pressing the engine start on the remote for over 12 seconds and nothing happens. Seems its stuck in key fob programming mode.

Hi,

There are two different systems that are used. One with the "system program system" (SPS) and the other without.

I attached directions for both below. Note: The directions are specific to vehicles in North America but not Canada. If you are in Canada or another country, let me know.

Take a look and let me know if you have questions.

Take care,

joe
