Engine starts and quits after two seconds
Flip key, same thing.
Wait 4-5 minutes flip key again then engine starts.

Finally, no start and or run for three days, battery full up and lots of gas, fuel pump running.

Hello,

It sounds like you might have an issue with the transponder reader coil. This unit is fitted around the ignition barrel and picks up the transponder signal from the ignition key.
Have you tried the spare key?

See image below for the reader coil.

This unit can be replaced without programming as it only reads the transponder signal from the key.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Boris

Thank you so much. I did try the spare key but with the same result. However, it does finally start after a couple sharp taps on the ring. I'm a pensioner and a little short of cash at the moment but when I get a few dollars I will take your advice. Is it possible that the clutch pedal switch?

Hello,

The way you describe the starting issue it does point towards the transponder reader coil around the ignition barrel.

A faulty clutch switch would not allow the engine to crank over.

Cheers, Boris
