I have noticed a difference in lack of speed when driving my car. Two nights ago when I checked under the hood after driving I noticed that the engine had a bright fiery orange color to it.

Hi,

Did it appear to be caused by heat? Did that color go away after the engine cooled? Did the temperature gauge indicate it was hot? Is the engine coolant full?

I have seen catalytic converters plug and run red hot, but for the engine to do that, is another story. Please let me know what is happening. The engine should never be red hot.

Let me know. And honestly, if the engine was red hot, don't drive it until we figure out what is happening.

Joe

Please be careful and let me know what you find. Also, please confirm it was the engine that was fiery orange. This really has me concerned.

Take care,
Joe
