Hi,
First, if you were working on/around the dash, check to make sure no fuses failed. As far as a loss of spark, if you have power to the coil, that is a good thing. And yes, the drop in voltage is due to the starter. As a rule of thumb, it shouldn't drop below 9.7V with the starter engaged. Otherwise, it can cause issues with the ignition system.
Do me a favor. I'm not familiar with what you installed. However, I do have the diagnostics related to testing the ignition system. (See pics 1 and 2 below)
Also, if you haven't already, you may want to check for diagnostic trouble codes. All you need is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip.

Also, see if there is an injector pulse when cranking. If there isn't, it may be the pick-up coil in the distributor. It's odd timing, but anything is possible.
