Engine cranks but does not start, no spark

Engine was starting just fine a few days ago , battery drained so I decided to replace my crankshaft sensor camshaft sensor and o2 sensors. Because I had codes for them. changed them tried to jump start didn’t work went a got a new battery to see if that was why than nothing. then I find out ignition coils are getting no spark . Only happened after changing crankshaft sensor. Really stumped because I have no idea what happened it was running mint before battery drained. I don’t know how but it did start once but it was jumping RPMs up to around 1,500 then it would start to drop to stalling out and it would keep jumping up 1,500 until it shut off and now it won’t start at all . Just cranks no start.

Hi,

It sounds like you have a bad "new" crankshaft position sensor. If you still have the original one that was working, switch them to see if it makes a difference.

Or, if you have a live data scan tool, see if there is an RPM signal when cranking.

I have been experiencing a lot of faulty new parts. You may have simply gotten a bad one.

I attached the directions below for removal and replacement.

Let me know what you find.

I had actually bought 2 crankshaft sensors they were both defective I guess, lol. I am still looking for old one. Also when cranking i have no rpm.

Hi,

The idea that you have no RPM first points me to the sensor. If possible, let me know if it starts with the old one. If it doesn't, then we'll have to start checking the wiring to it from the PCM.

One last thing. Make sure that when you connected the sensor that none of the pins got bent or pushed in. It's not hard to do. LOL
