no spark

It would be cheaper and quicker to get a complete distributor and replace it as a unit.

I was misinformed about where to locate the ignition module it is not by the distributor it is on the passenger side guard.... Now I have spent the whole day pulling out half the car to put it back together in the process have got a new coil and new rotor..what I am wondering is before I go pulling any more things off do you believe it could be the module....car was going good then rev counter started to bounce round without the engine revving after I got home it was sounding a bit off went out in the morning started straight away run for max of 5 seconds then died and hasn't started since was unable to get spark so changed coil first then was given advice and instructions from a mechanic about the module...If you could give me any idea as to what you think I should do I would very much appreciate it as I need it running before I go back to work so my wife has a vehicle...Thank you

Drop dist back in, do not bother timing at this stage, take leads and plugs out, crank and see if you have spark at the plugs, also unplug coil wire and place a test light or a noid light into plug, crank engine if light pulses this will be the igniter working.
