Does not start, it has spark and fuel?

Hi, i just overruled my Opel Kadett engine 2 days ago and i turned it yesterday it had spark and fuel but didn't want to start it backfired the whole time and when i tried again today it just had no spark. does anyone have a solution to this?

I would check the fuses first and make sure the distributor is turning while the engine is cranking, and I would make sure the coil has power when the ignition switch is on. Also, check the engine computer wiring grounds, they need to be connected to the engine. Next, I would see if the coil is getting a trigger signal by using a test light, crank the engine over with the test light connected to ground and the light should flash and if so, the coil is bad, or the cap and rotor need to be replaced.
