Got spark, got fuel and compression. Runs for.3 tens of a second. After just cranks and will not run. Checked all fuses relays and crank sensor all works but won't run. Can you help?

Hi,

When it stalls and won't restart, do you still have spark and fuel to the engine? Will it start for a couple of seconds if you use starting fluid? Try that and let me know the results. When it won't restart, if starting fluid allows it to run for a couple of seconds, then we will know it's a fuel-related issue.

Although you may still have fuel pressure to the engine, the injectors may have lost signal.

Next, the vehicle has an automatic shutdown relay in the fuse box under the hood. That relay (ASD) sends power to all of the injectors via a brown wire with a yellow tracer. All fuel injectors have power at all times when the key is on via the ASD. To actuate an injector, the PCM provides a ground path individually based on a firing order, driving conditions, and information from several different sensors.

If you do have fuel pressure and spark, this is where I recommend checking. Go to each of the fuel injectors and check each one at the brown wire with the yellow tracer. All should have power (12v) with the key on. If they don't, work back to the ASD relay. If there is another relay with the same part number, switch them. If the isn't, here is a link that explains how to test a relay.

At this point, I don't know if you have already done this. So let me know any info that you can that will help me diagnose the issue. Also, the injector /ASD theory is based on the idea that you have fuel pressure and spark present when it won't start, so it is important to reconfirm both are present when the no-start occurs.

Let me know as much as you can.

Take care,

Joe
