Using starter fluid engine will start and run as long as fluid is squirted in throttle body. Full gas tank.

Hello,

This sounds like a fuel related problem. It could be a bad fuel pump, a bad fuel pump relay, bad fuel filter, pinched fuel lines, or a problem with the wiring going to the fuel pump. Here is a link that will help you to test your fuel pump:

If it is a fuel pump issue:

Regardless, please let us know what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

I forgot to say that when the ignition key is turned on, you can hear the fuel pump run for several seconds then stop. I suspect the fuel pump works the engine doesn't start.

Hello again,

Okay. So if your fuel pump is getting voltage and priming the system, and you can start on starting fluid, then we need to check to see if we are getting the proper fuel pressure at the fuel rail. I have included a step by step diagnostic fuel pressure flowchart for you in the diagrams below. If you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, you can usually get a loaner tool at your local parts store, free of charge. Let us know what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex,
