Hello, my name is Alex and my friend's car listed above seems to be not getting any voltage to the fuel pump. The fuel sending wires have battery voltage but the pump does not. I have jumped the pump and it does turn on. I have tested the fuses and everything checks fine. I guess what I'm asking is for the location of the c/opn relay. Thanks.

Hi,

The C/open relay is in the underhood fuse/relay box. See pic 1 below.

Additionally, I have attached pics of the entire powertrain management schematics (starting with pic 2). I had to cut the pics in half, but I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

Also, here is a link you may find helpful:

Starting with pic 10, I included the fuel pump circuit diagnostics.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you so much for all the information. It helped tremendously.

So as it turns it the ECM had a lot of water in it. I think the previous owner had washed the engine bay after removing the motor (blown head gasket). I replaced ECM and now have fuel flowing. Now I'm finding out there is no spark. I think it might be a ground issue. Any info you might be able to send my way would be much appreciated.

Thanks again for all your help. Take care.

Hi,

If you have a live data scan tool, can you check to see if there is an RPM signal when cranking the engine? If there is no signal, we need to check the crankshaft position sensor. Here are a couple of links you may find of interest. The first explains how it works, the second discusses common symptoms, and the last shows in general how one is replaced.

If there is no RPM signal, this is my first suspect. If you look at the attachments below, they provide the directions/pictures for testing specific to this vehicle.

If it is bad, the last three pics are the directions for replacement specific to your vehicle.

Check this and let me know what you find.
