So I replaced the fuel pump to my car and come to find out there is no power to it. so I replaced the relays with ones I had off a parts same model car. I have and I still have no power to my fuel pump. So I’m wondering what can be causing the problem and if it can be a ground wire problem where would that be located?

Hi,

First, have you checked the fuel pump fuse under the hood in the fuse box? See pics 1 and 2. If you haven't check that fuse. In addition to checking the fuse, confirm there is power to it and out from it.

Here is a link you may find helpful:

Also, if you look at pic 3, it shows the ground and location.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,
Joe

Okay, thank you. I got the pump running but she is still cranking with no start. I am going to be checking the injectors to make sure they are good and I’ve put in new spark plugs.

Hi,

If the pump is running, try this. See if the engine starts for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does, then we know there is a fuel related issue. If it doesn't start, then check to see if there is spark to the plugs. Here is a link that explains how to check:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-an-ignition-system

If it does start for a couple seconds and then stalls, check fuel pressure. Even though the pump is running, it may not be producing enough pressure to run the engine. If pressure is good, confirm there is a pulse signal to the injectors.

Here are a couple links to help:

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
