About two weeks ago I replaced the starter in my car. After I replaced the starter everything worked fine. Two weeks later I got to get in my car to start it turn the key in the ignition and nothing happens; no lights come on, no clicking sound, no nothing. So I’m trying to figure out what is wrong with my car so I can pay to get it fixed. It’s not the battery either because I took the battery to O’Reilly‘s and they charge the battery they did say however though the battery was dead whenever I brought. It in so I’m trying to figure out if it’s the alternator or ignition switch or what?

Hi,

Once you replaced the battery after being recharged, did things work? If they did, we have a couple of things to check. First, let's check to see if there is a parasitic draw. Here is a link showing how that is done:

If you find that is okay and you can start the vehicle since the battery was recharged, we need to check the alternator output. Here is a link that shows how that is done. It really isn't hard.

No after I went and got the battery charged and put it back in my car the mileage light on my dash came on but as soon as I put the key in the ignition and try to turn it over the light went back off again and the car still did not start.

Hi,

It sounds like a loose connection. Take a look through this link:
