I went for an oil change and was told my car had no oil in it?

They told me to fill it with oil drive and drive around for a while to make sure there is not permanent damage to the engine. The engine is loud but that's about it. How do i know if there is permanent damage?

Engine noise is the best way to tell if your engine is hurt or not. If you upload a short video of the engine running and then give it a slight rev, I can tell you if the engine will last.
