My van is an SXT. It doesn't display any mileage but does indicate trip and a dot.

This problem began with the instrument cluster acting erratically (Disco Dash Syndrome as I've seen it posted in the web)

Intermittently all of the needles on the dash would swing wildly, warning display lights coming on and off, Headlights flashing, doors locking and unlocking. And all other manor of crazy dash problems.

Initially I removed the engine compartment fuse and rely boxes and improved the engine compartment grounds. I also removed and re-seated all fuses and relays. I removed the PCM. Checked and cleaned all connector contacts that I could and unplugged and reset all of the connectors several times. This seemed to remedy the dash and flashing light problem.

However.
Once everything was connection and power was applied the odometer displayed over 500,000 miles from the original 112,000 or so that was displayed previously, the dash problem was gone.

Flash forward a few weeks.
Dash problem comes back, but now the horn beeps for a second about every minute like the car was being locked and the warning for the turn signal being on for an extended time comes on immediately comes on and now no numeric display in the odometer. But it does say trip. So I go further into the wiring and improve the multi-ground near the B column and recheck grounds. Dash and horn problem gone but still no Odometer and turn signal warning continue.

When I perform an Instrument cluster reset all segments of the odometer illuminate but no numbers are displayed after the reset and the dash goes back to its "normal" state.

Any Ideas?

This sounds like the TIPM or the cluster is going out. The TIPM is common but I have seen the clusters go out as well. The only way to tell for sure is a CAN scan watch this video to see how:

Here is how you change the TIPM, it is easy because it self initializes. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
