Neither the courtesy nor interior light are working. All fuses check good. Could it be rim module? Where is it located and best cost?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

Hi and yes, it could be the issue. The rear integration module is located behind the rear seat back cushion, near the upper left corner of the rear shelf panel.

If all bulbs and fuses are good, that would be my first suspect. Here is a list of components it controls:

The RIM functions include the following:
Heated seat controls
Heating, Ventilation, And Air Conditioning (HVAC) blower control
Rear defogger control
Park relay controls
Various controls for the interior lamps
Reverse control for the backup lamps
Rear compartment lid release controls
Retained Accessory Power (RAP) control
Ajar switch and tamper switch inputs from the rear compartment lid

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

Hi again:
As far as cost, the part is most likely just under $200.00, but based on where you live, that can change. Additionally, a new one will need to go through a relearn process.

If you want to check the RIM, take a look at the schematics I have attached. There is a dark blue wire with a white tracer designated for the interior lights and courtesy lights coming from the rim. Check to see if there is power from it. Also, make sure the connector isn't damaged or corroded. Corrosion can cause a lot of electrical issues.

If you determine that the rim is the issue, here are the directions for removing and replacing.

We had a rain storm and I was closing things up, wallah, the courtesy and interior lights came on. That was great, but it will probably be back some other time so I will save your emails for then.
Thank you
