Fan is not kicking on at all not even on high. So I am thinking it is not the resistor. Is there anything else I should check before pulling out the glove box and replacing motor?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

Before you remove the motor, check fuses. Check both fuse 20 and 21 in the passenger compartment fuse box. I attached a list of what each fuse is for as well as the layout of the fuse panel.

Here are a couple links that will help if you have trouble:

If you find the fuses are good and there is power to the motor, here are the directions for replacement. First is a link that shows how one is replaced in general. Following the link are the directions for your vehicle.

The aforementioned link is for motor replacement.

No problem, and when I was young, I watched Hendrix a million times to learn how he played certain guitar licks. LOL He taught me a lot!

Let me know how things go and if the links are helpful. I agree with you that if the fan does not even work on high, chances are it is not the resister.

Regardless, I will watch for your reply. Let me know if I can help or if you need additional information. I will clear the purple haze from my computer screen and reply.

Take care,
Joe

Mr. Joe. Thanks again for your time. I pulled the blower motor, once removed applied power, no movement. Tapped motor housing a few times with screwdriver motor tried to turn. Got new motor, of course they gave me wrong part. Lol. Housing bracket did not line up. Plugged it in anyway. It was working like a champ. FYI, looks like for a 1994 Subaru Legacy wagon, you cannot buy the complete assembled unit. Have to buy motor, and fan separately.
Peace

Welcome back:

Honestly, often times, the motor is separate from the fan itself. You should be able to remove the fan itself from the motor and reinstall it on the new motor. I attached two pictures for you to see. Look closely at the center of the fan. You can see on this motor there is a clip that holds the fan blade on the motor. It can be removed. See if your design is similar.

Let me know if you run into trouble.

By the way. Love the site. Is that your band? For some reason, I can hear the audio fine, but my screen is extremely blurry. It sounds like the doors. Is it or is it your band?

Take care,
Joe

Hey man. Motor should be here tomorrow. Took old motor apart. Pulled the clip cut wires at brushes, shrink tubed connections at clip. Gonna but splice new motor wires.

That is my personal website. I am a full time musician in Seattle. That site has my original music, and several cover bands, rock, funk, etc. Sounds like you were checking out Alive She Cried one of the Doors tribute bands I am in.

Thanks for having a look. I will let you know how it turns out.

Sounds like a plan. And yes, I was checking out the site and very impressed. I have played in bands since I was 12. My parents had to go because I was too young to be in the bars. Lol Everything from lead, bass, drums, keys I have done. Until 16, I was first chair violinist in the Westmoreland County Youth Symphony. However, it was not cool to play violin, so I quit. Ugh! I have a ton of originals. Maybe someday I will get to play full time, but at 54, I do not think it is likely.
