Hi,
When I tried to turn my car on today, it gave me a "no fuse" warning and would not start. I tried again and got the same warning but this time it did start and then the warning went away. I drove to where I needed to be with no issues and turned the car off, but on my return trip the check engine light came on and now comes on every time I start the car. I have an appointment with a mechanic in a few days but I am wondering if it is safe to drive my car short distances in the meantime?

Good morning.

As long as the light is not flashing, yes, you are good. flashing indicates a misfire and by continuing to drive with that, you can damage other components.
