I removed both A/C compressor and alternator. Bought wrong A/C compressor so I had to put the original back forgot to plug the alternator back in and the battery drained out. Switched batteries drove home plugged alternator back in. I had taken the black breather assembly off the engine when I changed batteries because the battery was too big, but covered the intake hole of the breather with a towel. When I got home to plug my alternator back in my car would not start. Not getting any gas.

Which intake hole was plugged with a towel? Also, when you say it won't start, is the starter engaging and cranking the engine, or does nothing happen?

One last question. Did you check fuel pressure?

Here is a link that explains the most common causes of a crank no start condition:

Let me know the specifics. Also, I need to know about the towel.

Take care,

Joe
